It’s been a month since our company’s inception, and as of this week we now know exactly who our clients are and what it is they’re looking for. At Fourth Ave we know there is a lot of work ahead of us still, but we accepted this challenge on the first of day of the semester, and I think we have the right people and the right attitude to be successful.

This week we welcomed marketing professional Sally Dufner, who gave us a presentation on the importance of creating the right image when selling a brand. Sally worked with Simon Property Group, for whom she managed Albertville Premium Outlets for over a decade. With our class only a few weeks away from the 12-Hour Student Design Challenge held by the American Ad Federation of Central Minnesota, I thought Sally provided us with great insights about the importance of knowing what you’re selling and who you’re trying to sell to, as those dictate how you sell the brand.

A representative with Tri-County Humane Society met with us this week. She discussed working with them to market their newest fundraising event, ‘The A-meowzing Race.’ The Humane Society has asked us to design t-shirts and flyers, as well as help create activities and for the event set to take place this summer or fall.

This week Haley, Drew, and I met with Nate at Metro Bus to discuss working with them to market public transit to students at St Cloud State. Metro Bus is adding a location inside Atwood Student Center on the SCSU campus and would like us to create informational brochures and handouts, as well as an “outside the box” idea to promote the bus. I’m confident our team will not only get the job done for Metro Bus, but also exceed their expectations in the process--besides, thinking outside the box is all we do at Fourth Ave.
